The Northern Maine Museum of Science at U-Maine Presque Isle and the Nylander Museum in Caribou are working together to bring math/science experiences and learning opportunities to the people of northern Maine. Both museums are working to provide a lending library of traveling educational kits for educators and students.

The educator-designed Traveling Trunks are grade-specific and provide hands-on learning opportunities that explore multiple Maine State Learning Results curriculum guidelines. Trunks primarily support math and science learning, although other guideline categories are often addressed.
