Women's Soccer

Although soccer was introduced to the Aroostook State Normal School in 1930, it was not until 1961 that it first became an intercollegiate sport (for men) at this school. It was not until much later still that soccer became an intercollegiate sport for women at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

In 1987, soccer became an intercollegiate sport for women. After some years of building up the women's soccer program, it began to catch on in popularity, and it became victorious. In 1993, the women's soccer team brought home its first championship when they won the Maine Athletic Conference (MAC) Championship. Two years later, in 1995, the team won its second and latest MAC Championship.
