Cross Country


Cross Country Running began as an intercollegiate sport in 1970, with both male and female students allowed to participate. Cross Country has become a well-participated and successful sport for the University of Maine at Presque Isle, with representatives going to national competitions annually.

The men's Cross Country Running team has been continuously successful since its conception. Following is a list of Men's Cross Country Championships:

In addition, the University of Maine at Presque Isle was awarded its first All American Athlete in 1996. The female named to this honor was Katherine Chabot for her excellence in the sport of Cross Country Running. Giving her the honor of All American Athlete was her excellent race in 1996 when Chabot placed 23rd out of 338 female runners at the NAIA National Cross Country meet in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
