The Woolly Mammoth

Woolly Mammoth
Another biology and geology display is the Woolly Mammoth. The Woolly Mammoth was a large creature that inhabited Europe, Asia, and North America, but became extinct after the last glaciation. It was elephant-like, but not directly related to the modern elephant. There were a number of species; some of which were very large in size, standing about 4.5 meters (15 feet) at the shoulder.
The museum displays a section of a tusk and two teeth, as well as a carved wooden model that was obtained in Russia.
